What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Super Grand Building B1 Look for the blue Japanese style "torii" gate. We’re located next to “Red Rock Kyoto Rokkaku-Dori.” You’ll see signs for our dojo next to a vending machine, and the entrance is down a spiral staircase.
What to expect
Our dojo, “Yushinkan Kyoto,” is led by the headmaster with 20+ years of experience. It is home to dedicated students who are rigorously training.
Watching and participating in this authentic training will give you a unique insight into the samurai swordsmanship passed down through generations.
What to expect:
1. Get Dressed in Samurai Training Gear (Dōgi, Obi, and Hakama)
2. Learn iai (katana drawing) techniques
3. Practice kenjutsu (katana fighting) techniques
4. Watch the students and master cut rolled tatami mats with a real katana
5. Watching the master perform with a katana
*Please note that test cutting with a real katana is not offered
