Explore the history and culture of one of Europe's oldest cities on a half day walking tour of Maastricht. Our tour is the perfect way to see the most important landmarks like St. Servatius Bridge or Basilica of Our Lady and hidden gems of the beautiful Medieval city. You'll be guided through the city and take in the stunning ancient Roman ruins, picturesque cobblestone streets, bustling squares and other cultural sites.

You can have the chance to taste a coffee & delicious local pie (vlaai) to be like a local. Or alternatively you can opt for a local beer platter ( bread).

You can choose a pickup location at checkout (multiple pickup locations are available).
Pickup details:

If the radius is beyond 1km from the city centre, so beyond the historical centre ( ie Van der Valk, NH Hotel, Novotel), the pickup can be done for an extra 20 euros for max 4 people.

Meeting point

The meeting point is basically in front of the central railway station. This is ideal if you are coming by train or bus as trains and buses stop over there. Alternatively, you can indicate the name of your hotel or another meeting point. If you are coming by car, we can meet at the parking place.

    Sint Servaasbrug

    Walking through the medieval bridge, explaining the history and the old Roman bridge, including eventual stop at the souvenir shop.

    Market Square

    Explanation of the Markt and its history, the old town hall and function and the Carnival highlights (i.e. Mooswief Statue). There is also the possibility to stop and buy some souvenirs at a local shop in the square. The access to the old town hall is not included as it is not open to public.

    Visit to one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world. The bookstore is located in a former Gothic Church. Explore the different levels by admiring also the frescoes of the 13th Century old Dominican church and find a new book to take home.

    Vrijthof

    Vrijthof square with the Sint Servatius basilica, surrounding buildings like the Wachthof and the Spanish Government, Carnival symbols and some hidden spots. Please note that we DO NOT ACCESS the basilica

    Vesting Museum Maastricht - Helpoort

    We will cross the Helpoort, the oldest gate of the city and of the Netherlands. We also see the medieval walls and surroundings towers.

    Onze Lieve Vrouw Sterre der Zee Basiliek

    Visit to the Gothic church and the impressive candle area with the Virgin of the Sea. We see also the stones of the Roman castrum.
