For those arriving by air, take the train to the main station in Kyoto where we will meet you at the station.
Our guides will welcome participants to Kyoto with dinner and welcoming the guests to their hotels/hostels.
Our guides will take you to tour Kyoto's Samurai & Ninja Museum to learn about the real history of samurai from local experts.
Our guides will then bring you to Nijo Castle to tour the grounds of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our guides will then take you to explore the Katsura Imperial Villa with a local guide to learn more about the history and legacy of Japan's Imperial past.
We'll then head to the Kyoto Imperial Palace to learn more about the political history of Feudal Japan.
Our guides will take you to explore Kyoto's Nishiki Market where you'll have the opportunity to shop for souvenirs and try local food still created using techniques in use for hundreds of years.
Our guides will then take you to one of the oldest tea houses in Japan where you'll get a chance to drink tea the way tea drinkers in Japan had during the Feudal Era, then explore nearby historical architecture.
We'll start the day by exploring Kyoto's famous Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine to learn about the religious history of Feudal Japan and the influences of Shinto and Buddhist faiths.
We'll then explore the grounds of the Rokuon-ji Temple better known as the Golden Pavilion to learn more about the religious side of Feudal Japanese culture
Our guides will than take you to the nearby neighborhood of Sannenzaka Ninenzaka to explore the historical architecture and explore more shops where you can find locally made souvenirs and snacks.
Free Day for participants to explore the city.
Our guides will then escort you to the train station one last time to help make sure you get started on your return journey home.
