Tours give a unique view of Oklahoma City's Bricktown district, while tour guides narrate points along the way, please weave tales of Oklahoma City's past, present and future together in a rich tapestry.
Water Taxi tour guides are also trained to be familiar with all of the places visitors should add to their itinerary while in Oklahoma City; acting as informative tour guides for more than the canal itself.
Our guides will narrate points along the way in the 100+ year old Bricktown Historic Entertainment District, describing the areas history, plus point out and describe changes brought about through the MAPS projects.
Our guides will point out the Chickasaw Plaza sculptural and interpretive marker installation alongside the Bricktown Canal. These markers tell the story of more than 10,000 years of indigenous history, including acknowledgement of the people who lived in Oklahoma for hundreds of generations, plus the tribal nations (often forcibly) relocated to Indian Territory and the Oklahoma Territory in the 1800s. This plaza and its markers also acknowledge Oklahoma's modern First American nations and their critical roles in our state's leadership, culture and economy.
Passengers aboard the Bricktown Water Taxi will experience the Centennial Land Run Monument from a unique perspective; the water. Oklahoma City's Bricktown Canal meanders THROUGH the giant (1-1/2 times life size) 45 piece sculpture and learn about the years, days and moments leading up to this wild, dangerous, undeniably unusual event that in a single day created what we today know as Oklahoma City.
