Starting along Estrada da Conceição, this hike begins in the lower part of the trail and gradually ascends over rocky terrain, offering an immersive walk through one of the island’s most scenic landscapes. As you climb, the path leads to the famous “Piquinho,” also known as the rappel rock, a strategic viewpoint that rewards hikers with breathtaking panoramic views. From this spot, you can admire the impressive Morro do Pico in the background—the highest point on the island at 321 meters—along with iconic landmarks such as Praia do Cachorro and the historic Fortaleza dos Remédios.
The journey continues toward a higher elevation of 217 meters, where the experience reaches its highlight: a spectacular sunset seen from above, with sweeping views of the coastline and the island below. This hike perfectly combines adventure, natural beauty, and unforgettable viewpoints, making it ideal for travelers seeking a rewarding outdoor experience and one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island.

1Trilha do Piquinho
The Piquinho Trail in Fernando de Noronha is one of the island’s most thrilling experiences, offering breathtaking panoramic views. The trail is about 2.7 km long and takes around 2 hours to complete. It starts at Conceição Road, passing through dense vegetation until reaching the base of Morro do Piquinho. Along the way, you can observe the rich local fauna and flora, including impressive fig trees and various rock formations. The highlight is the summit of Piquinho, about 200 meters high, where you get an almost 360° view of the island, including the Port, the Secondary Islands, the Chapel of São Pedro, the Fortress of the Remédios, Cachorro Beach, the Outer Sea, Cacimba do Padre, and Morro dos Dois Irmãos. The hike requires moderate physical effort, with steep climbs and rocky sections that may require rope assistance.
