The tour meets in front of the Windmill at the intersection Francis St and Bucktrout Ln.
The tour ends at the south end of the Palace green beside the Geddy house.
Our tour starts at the Windmill on Francis St where we will discuss the differences between domestic and plantation slavery the emergence of tobacco as the cash crop of Virginia and the labor involved.
In front of the Colonial Capitol building and talk about the origins of slavery in Virginia, the legal definition, and the laws passed to keep it in place.
At the Courthouse, we will discover how the laws were enforced. Note: Colonial Williamsburg admission (Randolph house, courthouse)$49.99 (not required we do not enter).
From the Geddy house, we will explore the attitudes of the citizens of Virginia toward slavery.
