    Today your safari adventure begins! After breakfast, pick up from your hotel and drive for 2 hours to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle, you will experience the seasonal swamps, savanna, and Tarangire River in search of many animals including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe. After a full day in the park, you will drive to Fig tree lodge, where you will be able to relax and enjoy dinner and have an overnight.

    Today we will spend the whole day in the park. We head out and start to explore at sunrise - we will have a full day game drive exploring the beautiful scenery of Serengeti, searching for the big five. We will then serve lunch at camp and then head out for an afternoon drive. There is more to Serengeti than large mammals. Gaudy agama lizards and rock hyraxes scuffle around the surfaces of the park’s isolated granite kopjes. A full 100 varieties of dung beetle have been recorded, as have 500-plus bird species, ranging from the oversized ostrich and bizarre secretary bird of the open grassland to the black eagles that soar effortlessly above the Lobo Hills.During the afternoon, you will be served lunch and then go on an afternoon game drive until our allotted time runs out. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the campsite.

    After a hot breakfast in morning, you’ll go on a tour of a local Maasai boma. The Maasai people are a pastoral group that has kept much of their traditional lifestyle. During the visit to you may learn about Maasai culture. You can also partake in local activities like singing and dancing, herding cattle, milling cattle and goats, and creating fires with animal dung and acacia trees. Your lunch will be at a place chosen by your guide. You’ll also have time to take photos and purchase authentic Maasai handcrafts. The guide will then drive you back to Arusha. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the hotel.

    You will be picked up from your accommodations after breakfast and driven to Lake Manyara National Park (about 30 minutes). The park is truly a photographer's playground and offers some of the best game viewing in the world. You can expect to see many of Africa's most well-known animals—with the tree-climbing lions being a particular treat. These proud predators lounge in acacia trees practically begging to be photographed. Birdwatchers will also find Lake Manyara to be an absolute delight, with a huge variety of birds on display in the park. Even the novice can expect to be amazed by large flamingo flocks, circling birds of prey, and the brightly colored lilac breasted roller. Lunch will be served in the park at 1300 hours. You’ll return to Arusha in the afternoon.

    Materuni Waterfalls

    We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha after breakfast. First, you will visit the waterfalls, which are a roughly 40-minute walk away. Along the way, your guide will tell you about the local culture, village life, and explain the surrounding flora and fauna. The views here are truly breathtaking—with some luck you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim, so don‘t forget your swimwear! After enjoying the scenery, you slowly return with your guide to Materuni village, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch.
