This trekking route is only operated by our company, the enthusiasts will both explore the most beautiful landscape of Yading and make a pilgrimage around the holy mountain.

Daocheng Yading is famous for its unique original ecological environment, natural scenery with majestic, embroidered, and beautiful, as well as the legendary "Shangri-La". The three holy snow mountains are the core center in Daocheng Yading, they respectively symbolize the three gods in Tibetan Buddhism, the XianNaiRi Peak (6032m) for Guanyin Bodhisattva, the YangMaiYong Peak(5958m) for Wenshu Bodhisattva, and the ShaNuoDuoJi Peak (5958m) for Vajrayana Bodhisattva.

We have an in-depth understanding of outdoor enthusiasts and have a chance to freely exploration in the natural remote Tibetan plateau. Team members will overnight stay in the boutique hotels in the town, and be served high-standard logistics services in high mountains, making the team members have a safe and enjoyable high-altitude journey.

    DAY 1 Arrival at Chengdu and Gear&Equipment check

    Arrival at Chengdu, check-in Chengdu hotel. We will have Gear & Equipment check and hold itinerary briefing ,also sign the trekking agreement.

    Chengdu—Kangding—Xingduqiao—Yajiang Town 410km

    Yajiang County

    After breakfast, we will drive along the Expressway to Kangding, then transfer to G318 National Highway. We will cross the Zheduo Pass (4298m) and enter Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Xingduqiao. After GaoErSi mountain tunnel, we will arrive in Yajiang Town where is helpful to acclimatize as low altitude 2600m. Yajiang is famous for producing Matsutakes in China.

    Yajiang—Litang—Daocheng—Shangri-La Town 360km

    Today we will cross over four 4000m+ highway mountain passes such as Kazila, Rabbit, Haizi and Bowa mountains. Have experience how is the feeling of G318 National Highway - Sky Road in China! Firstly cross the Kazila Pass 4718 m by the 18-bend of uphill highway, and arrive at Litang, known as the "High City of the World" at an altitude of 4,014m. Litang is the birth place of the seventh and tenth Dalai Lama. After lunch, head to Daocheng, cross the Rabbit and Haizi mountains. After the Bowa Mountain, we will arrive at Shangri-La Town (old name: Riwa Town) where the entrance of Yading Scenic Spot is located. We will stay in Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hotel and have a good rest tonight.

    Trekking: Shangri-La Town—Chonggu Temple—Pearl Lake—Songluo Pass—Camping site

    Yading Nature Reserve

    In the morning, we enter into Yading Scenic Area, take scenic tourist bus get inside. Start hiking from Chonggu Temple, gradually going up Firstly pass through Pearl Lake where is possible to see the reflection of XianNaiRi Peak (6032m), then enter into forest trail towards Songluo Pass. Take a short rest in the mountain lawn, a half way place, continue to go up and cross the Songluo Pass (4650m). Here the prayer flags are densely covered, representing Tibetan religion's respect for the holy mountain. Go down the pass, will soon arrive in today's camping site. Today 6-8 hours trekking for 8-12km, up 800m and down 300m

    Trekking: Camping site — Lake—Songduo Pass—Snake Lake

    Yading Nature Reserve

    Today we will hike along the mountain trail between the alpine shrubs and pass by the intoxicating azalea forest in summer. After passing the Kas Cowshed, we will turn up a small pass to Resong Lake, then go up to Songduo Pass. You are entering into the largest and most beautiful mountain lake in Yading - Snake Lake. After taking a rest at the lakeside of Snake Lake ,you can hike to the famous Butterfly Rock (10 km round trip) with our guide or take a walk to enjoy the beautiful Snake Lake. Camping in lakeside of Snake Lake tonight. Today 6-10 hours trekking for 10-20km, up 400-700m and down 400-700m

    Trekking: Snake Lake—Songduo Pass—Milk Lake—Luorong Cattle Farm—Chonggu Temple——Daocheng—Litang

    Yading Nature Reserve

    Departure from the Snake Lake, go back to Songduo Pass and Yading Scenic Area. We firstly arrive at Milk Lake, and then Five-colored Lake where you will have chance to take two holy peaks of ShaiNuoDuoJi and YangMaiYong (both 5958m) into one screen. Continuely going down to Luorong Cattle Farm, take the tourist sightseeing car to Chonggu Temple, change tourist bus to Shangri-La Town. Afterwards we drive to Litang. Today 5 hours trekking for 10km, up 300m and down 750m 220km 5 hours by driving

    We return to Chengdu from Litang by Yajiang, Kangding, will arrive in Chengdu after 19:00pm as usual. The unstable road conditions would cause the high risk of traffic jam, suggest that you book the next day's return flight.
