Viewpoint at the Nazaré Menu publisher, Church of Our Lady of Nazaré, panoramic view. Ideal for wonderful photos. Currently, the main attraction of this city is the waves and surfing, thanks to the "Nazaré Canyon", an underwater geomorphological phenomenon that allows the formation of giant and perfect waves. It is the largest underwater canyon in Europe, with about 170 kilometers along the coast, reaching a depth of 5000 meters.
The long, crescent-shaped sandy beach, which is also the city's seafront, is known for its grandeur and the brightly colored awnings that decorate the white sand beach, contrasting with the blue of the water. Facing the sea, on the right, we see an impressive promontory. This is Sitio, where we have one of the most famous panoramic views of the Portuguese coast. It's a 318 - meter drop of rock plunging steeply into the sea, accessible on foot for the more adventurous, or by taking a funicular. Ideal for a snack or lunch (not included).
Óbidos is a village within a castle, where daily life is perfectly normal, yet you live within medieval walls. Obidos remains timeless and feminine. Small and sweet, with its cobblestone streets and whitewashed houses. It was precisely the women who made it so unique and charming. The atmosphere changes as soon as we enter the citadel; to do so, we must cross the beautiful Porta da Villa (Village Gate), covered in 18th-century tiles and crowned by a Baroque balcony. King D. Dinis offered it to his future wife, Isabel. Later, it was part of the dowry of other queens such as D. Filipa de Lencastre, D. Urraca, and D. Leonor. The Usseira aqueduct, the first local water supply system, was financed by Queen D. Catarina in the 16th century. It can also be seen.
