Begin in Varosha, the famous ghost town once known as one of Cyprus’ most glamorous seaside resorts. Walk through the accessible areas, see abandoned hotels, streets and buildings, and discover the story behind this extraordinary place.
Then continue into Famagusta’s historic Walled City. See landmarks such as Othello Castle, the Ravelin and Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque from the outside, as restoration works are currently taking place. Visit the former Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, today used as a mosque, and walk through the remains of the historic palace associated with the Lusignan and Venetian periods.
Drive along the inside of Famagusta’s impressive city walls and stop for photos wherever something catches your eye. Stroll through the Old Town and, if you wish, browse its many shops.
