Proceedings get under way with a brunch stop to sample local specialities grown organically in the Ottoman-era village of Beymelek. Next, sail to Kekova island, a protected area famed for its underwater ruins. These are the relics of the ancient town of Simena, partially submerged by an earthquake in the 2nd century. There's time for a swim in the warmer months – the water is clear and inviting – it would be difficult to resist a dip in the sea. But if the weather doesn't permit a boat trip, there's a visit to the fascinating Demre museum instead.
After a tasty lunch of typical dishes freshly prepared in a local restaurant, it's time to visit the Church of St Nicholas, who's better known today as Santa Claus. Finally, you'll have time to tour the site of the ancient city of Myra to explore the well-preserved amphitheatre and see the intricately carved rock tombs, high in the cliff face.

On your way to Kekova and Myra you will stop in Beymelek, a little village with 200 year old ottoman buildings that is currently being reawakend. Here you will a have a brunch break near the beautifully renovated stone houses. Taste local organic specialities of the village and visit a green house where the villagers grow their vegetables.
Then it's on to a little harbour where you hop on a boat and sail to Kekova Island where parts of a Lycian settlement were submerged in the sea. Peer down through the water as you glide over sunken walls and steps. You’ll also get the chance to cool off with a swim before you head for your lunch break. You can enjoy a special prepared local menu at a reserved area in the restaurant.
Next highlight is St. Nicholas church at Demre. This bare Byzantine church houses the empty tomb of St. Nicholas, once the Bishop of Myra and the inspiration for Santa Clause. Take a look at the Lycian rock-cut tombs. See fallen friezes carved with theatrical masks and wander round the amphitheatre at the Lycian site of Myra making a memorable end of the day.
