Your journey begins with a comfortable ride to the coastal town of Fajardo, where our friendly guides will greet you at Las Croabas. After a quick safety briefing, you’ll paddle through serene mangrove channels into the glowing waters of Laguna Grande.
As night falls, the magic begins — every stroke of your paddle sets the water sparkling with millions of glowing dinoflagellates, a natural wonder found in only a few places on Earth. Along the way, your guides will share fascinating stories about the bay’s delicate ecosystem, the mangroves, and even the historic Fajardo Lighthouse.

Meeting and pickup
Pick-Up PolicyYour timely pick-up is important to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests. Please be ready at the main entrance of your designated pick-up location at the scheduled start time. Your driver will wait up to 5 minutes before proceeding to the next location. If you miss your pick-up, you will be responsible for making your own way to the tour site to join the experience.We recommend planning ahead and being ready a few minutes early to avoid missing the adventure!

We will start our tour from Bahia Fajardo where travelers will follow our guide through a mangrove channel to the Bioluminescent Bay.

2Laguna Grande
Leaving the channel and entering the lagoon by itself is a breathtaking experience! A wide expanse of gentle, rippling water surrounded by mangrove forests greets the adventurer, the mountains of the El Yunque Rainforest tower in the distance – profound tranquility envelopes all who enter!

3El Faro de las Cabezas de San Juan
Take view of the Fajardo Lighthouse, built by the Spanish in the 19th century, and of course, the incredible natural phenomenon that we’re here for – the shimmering glow of bioluminescence as you dip your paddles and glide through the sparkling water – an amazingly unique experience only found in few places on earth!

4El Yunque National Forest

- No singles kayak available. If your group is an odd number, the single one will be riding with another single from another group.
- Health Restrictions: Not suitable for pregnant women or individuals with certain medical conditions
- Safety Gear: Life jackets and all necessary equipment are provided
- Glow factor: We cannot control sea and weather conditions, so we DO NOT WARRANTY that the glow on the bay will be present at all times. Please contact us to get further information on expected conditions.
