    Batalha Monastery

    We continue our tour to Batalha, where we visit the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, also known as "Monastery of Batalha", a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. This monastery was erected by King João I, in thanks to the Virgin Mary for her victory over the Castilians in the Battle of Aljubarrota.

    Nazare

    We continue to Nazaré, the most typical fishing village in Portugal, known for its long sandy beach, colorful wooden boats and fish sellers who, in keeping with tradition, still wear the "seven skirts" in their attire. In 2011, Garrett McNamara achieved the unimaginable: surfing a 30-meter wave at Praia do Norte, in Nazaré, bringing fame to this small village, which attracts water sports lovers from all over the world every year.

    Obidos

    Óbidos, a magnificent fully walled medieval village, marked by the Arab presence thanks to the whitewashed houses. And at its top we can see Óbidos Castle. Built in the 12th century, this castle is considered one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Also known as "Vila das Rainhas", it was common, in the 13th century, for this villa to be offered by Portuguese monarchs to their wives, as a wedding gift. You will also have the opportunity to taste the famous "Ginjinha de Óbidos", a cherry liqueur traditionally served in chocolate cups.
