Come to live on skis the magic atmosphere of the snowy forest at night, a snowy landscape lit sometimes by the moonlight, by the stars or perhaps by the northern lights (aurora)!
We´ll keep a break in a kota, traditional lappish tent, where we´ll sit on reindeer skins in front of the fire and grill a sausage.
The small size of the group (max. 5 customers) makes sure that the guide can take good care of every partecipant and that the quite atmosphere of nature will not be lost.
The trek takes place in a remote area outside of marked trails, so you will be able to experience a feeling of wilderness.
The kota tent is private, which means we will not meet other groups and peace of nature is guaranteed!
Guidind by a certified wilderness guide.
No previous skiing experience needed as skis are easy to use and the terrain is mostly flat.
I can pick you up from your accomodation or from a place you want, if you are staying in the city center or within 8 km (about 10 minutes) from it, otherwise I will pick up at the meeting point. I have a grey volvo with a black skibox on the roof
I will meet customers on the outside of the Tourist information center
Join our small group (max. 4 persons), and come to live on skis the magic atmospehere of the snowy forest at night, a snowy landscape lit sometimes by the moonlight, by the stars or perhaps by the northern lights (aurora)! Sometimes (cloudy weather, new moon) it will be darker around us and we´ll only see in the fan of our headlamp, the rest will remain unknown...The snowy forest at night has his charm in every weather! The treks takes place in a remote area, 30 min. away from Rovaniemi, far from towns and marked trails; for first we´ll go through the base techniques of trekking-skis; then we´ll start to ski through snowy forests, and frozen swamps towards the kota, traditional lappish tent. The kota will be our basecamp; we´ll light a fire in it, grill a snack, and relax sitting on reindeer skins. All throughout the trek we´ll check the sky to look for stars and the northern lights. If you bring along your camera, I will help you set it to get nice pictures of the northern lights.
the duration of the whole tour is 5 hours, but the duratíon of the actual trek is 3 hours. The remaining 2 hours is dedicated to pick up/drop off, getting dressed with overall and winter boots and driving to the trek´s starting point and back
