We will making your dream come true. Maybe you already know Africa and love it. Have already succumbed to the fascination of this continent with its diverse landscapes, the warmth and the attitude to life of its people despite all contradictions. Or you are inspired by this long-cherished dream, "... to experience all this for yourself" now. During a safari in my country, Tanzania; with its 16 national parks, 29 game reserves and 40 protected areas. You have an idea of your wishes, of what it takes to make your dream come true.
That's where we come in. Let me be honest. My team and I, we didn't invent safari tourism. We also cook only with water – but maybe our soup tastes better. We want to be more than just your anonymous tour operator. You should get the feeling of being guests with your Tanzanian friends. Do not hesitate to express your wishes without shyness. We know, getting started in a new environment can be confusing.
We receive our guests at Kilimanjaro Airport
Today we welcome you at Kilimanjaro Airport. Your personal guide and driver will take us to Arusha for your first accommodation. We will accompany you to check-in, discuss your travel plans with you and answer your questions. Arrive first and relax. In the afternoon, you can get your first impressions of African life on a walking tour in Arusha, do some small shopping or experience local handicrafts in the Maasai Market. Discuss your wishes with your guide. Today you will spend the night in your accommodation in Arusha.
Your exciting 5-day lodge safari in African wilderness includes wildlife viewing and encounters with Massai members in the Ngorongoro Highlands and Hadzabe on Lake Eyasi. This safari will take you to the best game viewing areas in the Serengeti, Tarangire National Park and of course the famous Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy varied African landscapes. Marvel at a huge variety and number of wildlife. Witness the "Great Migration" when millions of herd animals such as wildebeest and zebra roam the Serengeti in search of grazing land from January and September.
Tarangire is Tanzania's fifth largest national park on the edge of the Great Rift Valley. The landscape consists of low hills with sparse acacia forests, huge baobab trees and savannah grasslands. The Tarangire river is the main water source of the park and is ideal for wildlife viewing of all kinds. Herds of wildebeest, buffaloes, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos and many antelopes are waiting to be photographed by you. With a little luck and good eyes, you might also get the well-camouflaged leopard for the lens.
After breakfast departure to the Serengeti National Park. The journey takes place over wooded attractive altitudes in the Ngorongoro Highlands. After passing the entrance to the Ngorongoro Nature Reserve, we follow the crater rim to a viewpoint where you can take your first photos of the crater. Along the way, visit one of the Maasai villages. You will be greeted with singing and the famous dancing dances of the young warriors before you have the opportunity to visit the village. They will be happy to answer your interested question.
After this short stopover we are already on a game drive and continue our way to the Serengeti. In the shadow of Kopje's rocky outcrops, your safari guide will serve you a picnic lunch before continuing your wildlife sightings and arriving at today's overnight accommodation before sunset.
Your safari starts today at 6:30 am. Before you leave, you will have experienced a sunrise that you will rave about to your family and friends. The morning game drive is rewarded with seeing lions and other nocturnal prey hunters returning from their long night of hunting. Your breakfast and lunch will be served in the bush today. Today is dedicated to wildlife observation – let yourself be surprised. With elephants, lions and buffaloes, you are guaranteed to see three of Africa's "Big Five" today.
With the usual lunch box in our luggage, we head back towards the Ngorongoro Nature Reserve. We drive down to the "largest zoo in the world" 610 meters below. About 30,000 large animals live permanently in this caldera. Among them large population of predators, such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the always hard to find leopard. A good pair of binoculars is highly recommended
On this day we will take you on an early morning hunt with the Bushmen of the Hadzabe people in the Lake Eyasi area. To this day, the Hadzabe live according to their ancient traditions, master survival in the African bush and hunt with bow and arrow as ever. The collection of fruits, eggs and root tubers is another food source for the three ethnic groups of Hadzabe, Tindiga and Datoga.
After the hunting trip with the Hadzabe, your 5-day safari is unfortunately already over. Your driver will make sure you arrive at the airport in time for your flight home or for a connecting flight for a beach holiday in Zanzibar.
