Visit Khaolak Elephant Sanctuary on a full-day small-group tour from Khao Lak and learn about elephants in a responsible, nature-based setting.
Guests will hear the elephants’ stories, walk through the sanctuary area with a local guide, prepare herbal vitamin balls, learn about natural food preparation, and observe natural elephant behavior under caretaker guidance. When conditions allow, guests may also observe elephants bathing naturally from a respectful distance.
The experience also includes a Thai cooking class, a traditional Thai lunch, snacks, drinking water, coffee, and seasonal fruit. There is no elephant riding, no shows, no tricks, and no forced bathing. All elephant-related activities depend on elephant comfort, safety, weather conditions, and caretaker guidance.

1Khaolak Ethical Elephant Sanctuary (KES)
9:00 AM – Join a herbal vitamin ball workshop and learn about natural ingredients used in elephant care. 10:00 AM – Visit the rubber plantation area and learn about elephant routines, behavior, and dietary needs with a local guide and caretaker. 12:00 PM – Take part in a Thai cooking class and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch with dishes such as Pad Thai, Som Tam, Tom Yum Goong, and mango sticky rice. 2:00 PM – Visit a local gardener to learn how fresh produce is sourced for the elephants and why local ingredients are important for their wellbeing. 4:00 PM – Return transfer to your hotel, if the transfer option is selected.
