A busy party hub, this pedestrian street is full of clubs, bars and terraces that often host live concerts and themed events at night. Visit during the day to take a photo on this vibrant pink street and under the rainbow umbrellas. We stopped to take a photo.

    Ponte 25 de Abril

    Opened in 1966, this beautiful 2,200m bridge connects Lisbon to Almada, via car and rail. Originally called Ponte de Salazar, its current name now alludes to the carnation revolution. We passed under the bridge where we took a photo with the bridge in the background.

    Pastéis de Belém

    The production of Pastéis de Belém began in 1837, according to an old recipe from the Jerónimos Monastery that is reborn daily in its factory using the same artisanal processes. Pastéis de Belém today provide the taste of ancient Portuguese sweets. We stopped to learn how the pastries are made, which we then tasted as we left the factory.

    Mosteiro dos Jeronimos

    The Jerónimos Monastery is a Portuguese monastery, built at the end of the 15th century by King D. Manuel I and was handed over to the Order of Saint Jerónimo. In the church are the tombs of Pedro Alvares Cabral and Vasco da Gama. We stopped in front of it.

    Torre de Belem

    The Torre de Belém is a fortification on the right bank of the Tagus River, it was originally surrounded by water throughout its perimeter, over the centuries it was surrounded by the beach, until today it was incorporated into dry land. The monument is an architectural icon of the reign of D. Manuel I, in a synthesis between the keep tower of medieval tradition and the modern bastion, where artillery pieces were placed. We stopped to see this beautiful monument up close.

    Padrao dos Descobrimentos

    The Monument to the Discoveries was erected in 1940 on the occasion of the Portuguese World Exhibition to honor the historical figures involved in the Portuguese Discoveries. The current replica, in concrete and stone, is later, having been inaugurated in 1960. We also stopped to see the map where Portugal passed for the first time in the 15th and 16th centuries.
