Your local guide will pick you up from your hotel at Hanoi Old Quarter area. Your guide will provide itinerary and safety briefing, including helmet fitting to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.
Hop on the Vespa, and head out of the bustling city of Hanoi. Your journey will take you through the scenic outskirts of Hanoi, allowing you to take in views of rural landscapes, local villages, and the countryside. As you ride, you’ll pass by lush rice paddies, fields of vegetables, and traditional farming activities. The roads become quieter as you get further away from the city, and you’ll see local villagers going about their daily routines.
After the ride, you arrive at Co Loa Citadel: Co Loa is one of the oldest ancient citadels in Vietnam, dating back to the 3rd century BC. This historical site was the center of the ancient Au Lac Kingdom. Take a walk around the site with your guide, who will explain the rich history and the legends surrounding this area, particularly the story of King An Duong and the mythical snake princess. Explore the remnants of the ancient citadel, including the impressive brick walls and the temple dedicated to the king. After exploring the citadel, continue your Vespa ride through the surrounding villages. Your journey may include a stop at a local market where you’ll see the vibrant array of fresh produce, homemade goods, and street food items that locals buy and sell. Alternatively, you may stop at a local farm to see how the villagers grow rice or other crops. If you're lucky, you may witness a traditional farming process like harvesting rice or planting vegetables.
Take a break at a local Vietnamese café in the countryside and relax. You might have the chance to sample local specialties for lunch, such as fresh fruit, traditional cakes, or a cup of Vietnamese coffee (cà phê sữa đá). Your guide can also help you with any questions about the ingredients and preparation. Depending on the time of day, you may even have the opportunity to chat with friendly locals who will share their lifestyle with you. Hop back on your Vespa and head back towards Hanoi, enjoying the final stretch of your journey through scenic roads. As you return to the city, you’ll pass more beautiful landscapes, including lush fields and villages, giving you a final opportunity to absorb the rural charm of the area.
