Its position between the eastern and western forces of Europe, as well as the very important place on the sea route between Middle East and Europe enabled it to be a very important place and the middle of wars at many occasions. After all these years, it still stands refusing to give up and full of untold stories.
Our local professional tour guide is full of knowledge, vibrant and cheerful person ready to show you the most interesting landmarks and monuments of the city whose fortress system is classified as UNESCO World Heritage site.

In addition to the remains of the old forum, there are St. Donat church from the 9th century and St. Maria church from 11th century. This place was the centre of the city through centuries.

The biggest church in Dalmatia dates from 13th century and is a real beauty to visit. It is built in Romanic style and is one of the most important religious places in the city.

This is the main square of the city since 16th century. It contains Renaissance monuments and one very special church from 11th century.
This is the holiest place in Zadar. It contains the body of St. Simeon that held Jesus when Jesus was baby and announced that this baby will shine the light on the world. The story of how his body came to and remained in Zadar is even more amazing.
16th century entrance to the city is the most important Venetian monument in whole Dalmatia. It is on the UNESCO Heritage Site list together with fortification walls and you will see why the Ottomans never managed to conquer Zadar, despite trying few times. The monument is also nicely decorated and was considered to be too expensive by many Venetians at the time of built.
This is a beautiful park that was made in early 19th century as the central hangout place of people from Zadar. The story of how it came to reality and why it came to reality may surprise you.
