Husky Training Adventure & Snowshoe Hike in Arctic Lapland

Offered in: English

Located in the Pallas–Ylläs National Park, you will experience the true Arctic Lapland away from crowds or large groups, led by the people who raise, train, and live with them year-round.

We’re not a big kennel or commercial farm. We’re a small team living in the heart of the national park, with a personal group of dogs who are our next generation of running dogs and family. Our tours are intentionally small (maximum 4 guests), so you have time to truly get to know the dogs, and the dogs get to know you.

We’ll share how we raise, train, and live alongside these animals in Arctic Lapland. You’ll take part in hands-on training, enjoy a hike or snowshoe through quiet wilderness with the dogs attached to a waist harness, and have time for connection, questions, and photography along the way.

We have 2 lakeside cabins available for overnight stays, if you wish to stay a little longer.

What to expect

You’ll begin your experience at our small husky home in the heart of Pallas–Ylläs National Park. After a warm welcome, you’ll meet our 6-8 month old Alaskan Husky puppies, each in training to become future sport and running dogs.

We’ll pair you with a young husky and teach you the basics of how we train our dogs — building trust, walking calmly on a lead attached to your waist harness, and learning teamwork. Then we set off on a 2 –5 km guided walk or snowshoe, depending on the season.

In autumn, we hike through peaceful forests with golden trees and open fell views. In winter, we snowshoe through soft snowy trails, surrounded by silence and frozen beauty.

Along the way, we stop often for breaks, photos, and time to connect with your husky. We’ll share insights into sled dog life, feeding, care, and what it’s like to raise a team in Arctic Lapland.

We finish with hot drinks and snacks, and a chance to relax by the frozen lake with the dogs.
