The Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi commonly known as Sameba is the main cathedral of the Georgian Orthodox Church located in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Constructed between 1995 and 2004, it is the third-tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in the world and one of the largest religious buildings in the world by total area. Sameba is a synthesis of traditional styles dominating the Georgian church architecture at various stages in history and has some Byzantine undertones.
The Virgin Mary Assumption Church of Metekhi , known simply as Metekhi, is a Georgian Orthodox Christian church located on the left bank of the river Kura. It sits on the Metekhi Cliff opposite the old town of Tbilisi. Much of the existing structure dates back to the Middle Ages and was built between 1278 and 1289 AD under the reign of King Demetrius II of Georgia, although oral tradition traces Metekhi's origins further to the 5th century.
The Bridge of Peace is a bow-shaped pedestrian bridge, a steel and glass construction illuminated with numerous LEDs, over the Kura River, linking the Rike Park with Old town in central Tbilisi. Since its opening in 2010 the structure has become an important pedestrian crossing in the city, as well as a significant tourist attraction and one of the most well-recognized landmarks of the capital.
From the Middle Ages, there was a bridge on the river with a door on it. This place was pedestrian. However, in 1795 this bridge and the door were destroyed because of fights. It was reconstructed several times, but in 1959 due to frequent water flooding, they decided to build a concrete tunnel to block the river.
A beautiful waterfall and the bridge of lovers.Before you reach the waterfall, you will see the bridge of lovers. This romantic bridge is full of padlocks with the names of couples and quotes in many languages. People believe that if they lock a padlock on this bridge, their love will be forever. Legvtakhevi is beautiful at all seasons. Sometimes, the waterfall is frozen during wintertime, but you can escape hot summer days here, as the temperature is much cooler.
The National Botanical Garden of Georgia formerly the Tbilisi Botanical Garden , is located in Tbilisi, capital of Georgia, and lies in the Tsavkisis-Tskali Gorge on the southern foothills of the Sololaki Range (a spur of the Trialeti Range). It occupies an area of 161 hectares and possesses a collection of over 4,500 taxonomic groups.
n 2010 Rezo Gabriadze built a unique clock tower next to marionette theatre in Tbilisi old town. Every hour an angel comes out with a small hammer to ring the bell. There is a small puppet theatre inside the tower and twice a day at noon and at 7pm you can see a show – “The Circle of Life”.
