The Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center is the main visitor center for the national park. The building is easy to find, welcoming visitors from the upper parking area. This area of the park is open year-round. There’s something to see and experience in all our seasons.
Do you want to hike in Paradise? Paradise is a town in Washington state, and it’s certainly home to some Eden-esque scenery! The Skyline Loop Trail is the main hike from Paradise, and it takes in breathtaking views of Mount Rainier, Washington’s highest mountain. From mountain views to epic lookouts, dramatic waterfalls, and snowy glaciers, add these together and you’ve got one of the best hikes in the state!
At an elevation of 6,400 feet, Sunrise is the highest point that can be reached by vehicle at Mount Rainier National Park. In summer, mountain meadows abound with wildflowers. On clear summer days, Sunrise provides breathtaking views of Mount Rainier and Emmons Glacier. Sunrise Point offers nearly 360-degree views of the surrounding valleys, Mount Rainier, and other volcanoes in the Cascade Range such as Mount Adams. These views and an excellent trail system make Sunrise the second most visited location in the park.
