The Big Wild Goose Pagoda, is a historic Buddhist pagoda built in 652 AD during the Tang Dynasty. It was constructed to house Buddhist scriptures and relics brought from India by the monk Xuanzang, whose epic journey inspired the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. Standing at 64 meters tall, the pagoda is a fine example of traditional Chinese architecture and symbolizes the cultural exchange between China and ancient India. Morning: Free time for shopping or exploring Xi’an’s ancient city wall. The Xi'an City Wall is one of the oldest and best-preserved city walls in China. Built during the Ming Dynasty in the 14th century, it encircles the historic center of Xi'an, stretching approximately 14 kilometers in length. The wall stands 12 meters tall and is 15-18 meters wide at the top, offering a broad pathway for walking or cycling. It features 98 watchtowers, four main gates, and a deep moat, showcasing impressive military architecture. Afternoon: Take a high-speed train to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, famous for its spicy cuisine, pandas, and relaxed lifestyle.
The Panda Breeding and Research Center, a dwelling home to over 100 giant pandas. We will arrive here at about8:00 a.m. when most of them are active. It is a perfect time to observe their living habits when they do different things--eating, snoozing, tumbling and climbing trees. There are also panda kindergartens and nursery rooms, where you can see many adorable baby pandas.
Afternoon: Explore Chengdu’s city center, visit traditional tea houses, and experience the city’s slow-paced lifestyle. Try Sichuan hotpot, a must-try local dish known for its bold and spicy flavors.
Leshan Giant Buddha enjoys a total height of 71 meters and boasts the reputation of the “NO.1 Buddha under Heaven”. It is constructed to bless the boatmen and enjoys a history of over 1,300 years. Besides climbing to the mountain top to have a closer look of the Giant Buddha, we will chose go on a cruise to catch a panoramic view of the majestic Buddha statue. After your sightseeing in Leshan, you will be transferred back to Chengdu.
