Private Coastal Hike to a Hidden Beach in Arrabida Scenic Escape

5 hours (approximately)

Offered in: Portuguese and 2 more

This is not a typical beach trip — it’s a private, curated experience for travelers who want more than just a view.

The hidden beach is not accessible by car — you reach it on foot via scenic coastal trails and a historic fishermen’s staircase carved into the cliffs. The journey itself is part of the reward.

The hike ranges from 3 to 7 km, depending on the route, with several options available. The difficulty is moderate to high (4/5) and requires good physical fitness. Expect uneven terrain, steep descents and ascents, and occasionally slippery sections. Hiking poles are available free of charge upon request.

Unlike standard tours, this experience is fully private and flexible, with no fixed pace or large groups.

It’s a balance of movement and stillness — an active coastal hike followed by time to swim, relax, and enjoy a light picnic at a secluded Atlantic cove.

This is not for everyone — and that’s exactly the point.

Hidden Wild Beach and Picnic Time At the bottom, you arrive at a secluded Atlantic cove — untouched, quiet, and far from mass tourism. Here, the rhythm shifts completely. Take your time to: – Swim (weather and sea conditions permitting) – Relax on the beach – Enjoy optional snorkeling – Simply disconnect and take in the surroundings A light local picnic is served by the sea, featuring fresh fruit, local pastries, cheese, and bread — simple, authentic, and perfectly suited to the setting. Return Hike or Optional Boat Transfer After your time at the beach, we begin the return hike via the same scenic trail, including the uphill ascent. For a more relaxed and memorable ending, an optional boat transfer to Sesimbra harbor can be arranged in advance (additional cost and subject to prior request). This option is available only during the summer season and depends on sea conditions, when the ocean is calm enough for a safe transfer. This allows you to experience the coastline from the water — offering a completely different perspective of Arrabida’s cliffs.
