Become a shipmate and join the crew aboard the epic quest known as Portugal’s Age of Discoveries, a seafaring adventure that brought new worlds to the world.
Arriving at Belém, we will stop at the famous pastry of the Belém Custard Tarts, in addition to the emblematic Padrão dos Descobrimentos, two monuments that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Jerónimos Monastery and the Belém Tower. These are the prominent landmarks of the Maritime Discoveries period.
A large part of this area cannot be covered by tram 15 or tourist buses.
Everything you can do with us in 1h30/2h00 by yourself will take at least 1 day without being able to complement our explanations and enjoy our company.

Avenida da Liberdade (Pass by)
The avenue was built between 1879 and 1886 in the image of the boulevards of Paris. Its creation was a milestone in the city's expansion to the north and quickly became a reference for the wealthier classes to locate their homes there. Today, this avenue still contains very interesting buildings from an artistic and architectural point of view, especially from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

1Parque Eduardo VII
Eduardo VII Park of England, formerly Parque da Liberdade, is the largest park in the center of Lisbon. Locally known only as Parque Eduardo VII, it was named in 1903 in honor of Edward VII of the United Kingdom, who had visited Lisbon the previous year to reaffirm the alliance between the two countries.

3Mosteiro dos Jeronimos
The Jerónimos Monastery, in Lisbon, is a magnificent example of Manueline architecture. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has impressive details, such as sculptures and ornaments, that show the wealth and devotion of the era. It is a historical testimony to the age of Portuguese Discoveries and houses the tombs of prominent figures in the country's history. You can visit the Church for free, as long as there is no waiting line.

4Torre de Belem
The Belém Tower is a Lisbon historical icon on the riverbank. This fortified tower, with its unique architecture, mixes styles such as Gothic and Manueline. Built as a maritime defense, today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a striking symbol of the Age of Discovery. Its decorative details and strategic location on the banks of the Tagus River make it an unmissable attraction for visitors. The stop considers to observe the monument from the outside.

5Padrao dos Descobrimentos
The Monument to the Discoveries is an imposing monument celebrating the Age of Portuguese Discoveries. Its stylized caravel shape pays homage to explorers and important figures from that historical period. Located on the banks of the Tagus River, it stands out for its sculpture and viewpoint, which offers a magnificent view of the region. It is a symbolic representation of the spirit of discovery and conquest of new horizons. The stop considers to observe the monument from the outside.

6MAAT - Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia
This stop-over is dedicated to the MAAT museum, a curvy, white-tiled building (which resembles a wave rising towards the river). It is one of Lisbon’s modern icons. It’s worth a stop for the view from the top—you may walk around and even on top of this waterfront landmark.
