Your local Guide, a resident of the neighborhood for more than 25 years, will reveal you this emblematic neighborhood of social protest and resistance in Lyon through the centuries.
During your exploration, you will discover the rich history of the resistance in Lyon through its "traboules": from the meetings of the French Resistance during the Second World War to the Impression of underground newspapers, from the first social protests of the "canuts", the silk workers, to the desperate resistance of the city during the French Revolution.
You will leave with a deeper understanding of Lyon’s complex past and the role that traboules played in the great history of Lyon’s resistance.

Located on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse, the Cour des Voraces is a symbol of Lyon and popular architecture, linked to the silk industry, and which has had a profound impact on the district. It is also a place that symbolizes some great moments in Lyon's history, such as the revolt of the Canuts.

Public road and traboule emblematic of the slopes of the Croix-Rousse district, the stairs of the passage Mermet were repainted in 2019 by an association for the promotion of urban arts, to create a magical work of art.

A successful example of the restoration of a traboule from the beginning of the 19th century, the Passage Thiaffait today brings together a village of creators with a unique atmosphere, in a typical and intimate setting of the slopes district.

Emblematic climb of the slopes district, and lined with shops, cafes and restaurants. We will discover its atmosphere, and the passages hidden in the buildings on the slopes, used to access the famous "traboules".

Starting point of the traboules route, with a magnificent view of Lyon and the Alps, on sunny days. We will talk about the history of the place and its place in the hearts of the inhabitants of the slopes and the Croix-Rousse. We will of course talk about the big pebble itself, its history and what it has represented for generations of children in the neighborhood.

We will discover the "Traboules", this network of passages, corridors and hidden stairs of the city, used by the Lyon Resistance We will of course visit the most famous passages such as the Cours des vorraces, the Passage Thiaffait, the staircase Mermet,... But also much more discreet passages, and only known to locals:)
