What to expect

Join me in Kadıköy for a one-of-a-kind experience in Historical Medieval Battles (HMB), aka Buhurt. You’ll be welcomed into my home, where we’ll dive into the world of medieval martial arts. Starting in the living room, I’ll share the history of Buhurt, from its origins in medieval times—when knights and clergy illustrated moves on parchment—to the modern tournaments and culture that thrive today. Along the way, I’ll tell you about my personal passion for this art and introduce you to my 400-year-old family-owned sword.

After this introduction, we’ll head to the Armory room, where you can explore and choose the gear that speaks to you. Whether you want to don a cloak and channel a raider or suit up as a knight, the choice is yours. Once ready, we’ll move to the garden for basic training in Buhurt techniques, followed by hands-on practice with wooden swords.

To cap off the experience, you’ll have the chance to cut filled water bottles, feeling the weight and precision of a real sword. This isn’t just a physical activity—it’s a journey through time, blending history, culture, and action.

Come as a guest, and leave as a friend with a connection to the medieval world.
