Portugal-Inspired Ceramic Charm Necklace Workshop in Porto

2 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English

Step into a creative studio and design your own Portugal-inspired charm necklace at a curated Ceramic Charm Bar. Guided by an artist, you’ll choose from a selection of handmade ceramic charms, each inspired by traditional Portuguese symbols such as Azulejo tiles, swallows, sardines, and hearts.

Build your piece your way — from a minimal design to a playful composition of up to six charms, enhanced with pearls and brass accents. You’ll paint your ceramic elements using vibrant colors, then seal them with a glossy resin finish that makes them durable, polished, and ready to wear.

This experience blends craft, storytelling, and personal expression. Each charm can represent a memory, a symbol, or a moment from your journey. At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave wearing your own handmade necklace — a meaningful and stylish souvenir from Porto.

Perfect for creative travelers, and special occasions, this workshop offers a relaxed and inspiring way to connect with Portuguese culture.

What to expect

Your experience takes place in a welcoming art studio in central Porto, where you’ll be guided by a local artist throughout the process.

You’ll begin by choosing your stainless steel chain (gold or silver tone), which will become the base of your necklace.

Next, you’ll explore the Ceramic Charm Bar — a curated selection of handmade charms inspired by Portuguese culture, including Azulejo tiles, swallows, sardines, and hearts. You can build your composition by combining up to six elements, including freshwater pearls and brass accents.

You’ll then paint your ceramic charms using vibrant acrylic colors, with guidance on simple techniques, color combinations, and composition.

After painting, your charms are sealed with a fast-drying glossy resin, giving them a smooth, glazed, and durable finish.

While they set, you’ll assemble your necklace using basic jewelry tools, adjusting placement and balance.

By the end, you’ll leave wearing your finished ceramic charm necklace — a personal, handcrafted piece that carries a small story of your time in Porto.
