    This is the best location to make a hike in the national park Cotopaxi, we have the option to walk the loop of limpiopungo lagoon or a little walk too. The landscape is lovely with a great view of the Cotopaxi volcano, Rumiñahui volcano and Sincholagua volcano

    Laguna Quilotoa

    The Quilotoa Volcano is located west of the Cotopaxi National Park, within the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve in the Cotopaxi Province, 170 km southwest of Quito. The origin of the Quilotoa lagoon is a volcanic 6 km diameter that forms a caldera 2.9 km in diameter and 640 m deep whereas an alkaline lagoon lies that measures 3.6 km in diameter and has a depth of 240 m. The most spectacular thing is to be able to observe the emerald green Quilotoa lagoon and in seasons of turquoise color. Here we have the option to walk to the bottom which is approximately 30 minutes, and walk up to the rim of the caldera in 1 hour, or just walk in the rim, After of that, we drive to Baños de Agua Santa.

    Banos

    Baños de Agua Santa, situated at the foothills of the Tungurahua volcano at 1820 m (5,971 ft). Baños, is only three hours away from Quito. Considered the gateway to the Ecuadorian Amazon. Therefore, Baños – Puyo highway is connecting the Andean region with the Amazon jungle. Moreover, it connects with cities like Tena and Puyo. The weather in Baños de Agua Santa is very pleasant, temperatures range from 24º C (75.2ºF). This makes it an authentic paradise to visit. In addition, it has several hot springs that are rich in curative properties. Also, it’s well known as the adventure capital of Ecuador due to the great variety of extreme sports activities offered. For instance: trekking, canyoning, biking, rafting, bungee jumping, etc. The city of Baños de Agua Santa offers a paradisiacal landscape thanks to its location surrounded by mountains and crystalline waterfalls. However, the real protagonist is the Tungurahua volcano.

    Cascada el Manto de la Novia

    this is one of the best waterfalls on the way to Puyo city, the color is white, here we will take a cable car to the other side of the Pastaza River to walk along the riverside.

    Cascada El Pailon

    While we cross the tunnels that connect Baños de Agua Santa with the Puyo. We headed towards the Río Verde parish. We will visit the famous waterfall “Pailón del Diablo”. And they are located 18 kilometers from the city of Baños de Agua Santa. Perhaps, from the suspension bridge you can appreciate the figure of the devil among the rocks. Then, the site is known as "Pailón del Diablo". We will walk for 20 minutes until we reach the "Crack of Heaven". It is a formation of natural origin through which you must lean in order to pass. Going down some rock steps you will come to a second viewpoint. Where you can enjoy the waterfalls up close. So, we recommend you bring your waterproof coat if you don't want to get wet. Here you can also enjoy its exuberant vegetation.
