This is the small group tour of max 5 participants. Our tours are about exploring the history of Patan, a city with a strong connection to Newar Buddhism (Vajrayana influenced by Theravada). During the tour, we'll walk through both small and large areas of the city, learning about its traditions and culture, and how they still affect daily life today.

The price for youth is for students with student card

Entrance to Durbar Square (NRP 1000 about US$ 9) has to be paid in cash at the entrance. We recommend to pay minimum of NRP 100 as a donation to the Royal Kumari .

    On the way to golden temple from patan dhoka we pass by this shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha and share the story how he got the elephant head.

    Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar)

    Newari Buddhist monastery from 14th century. We will talk about Buddha his teachings and Vajrayana sects of Buddhism.

    Patan Durbar Square

    Patan Durbar Square is the ancient royal palace where Malla Kings of patan resided. Here we will explore the Nepalese architecture buildings, shrines and palace and talk about the history of amazing Kathmandu Valley and Patan. We will explore the following Shrines, Temples and places around the Patan Durbar Square: Krishna Mandir Bhimsen Temple Vishwanath Temple Manga Hiti Taleju Bhawani Tusha Hiti

    Patan Museum

    The Patan Museum displays the traditional sacred arts of Nepal in an illustrious architectural setting. Its home is an old residential court of Patan Durbar, one of the royal palaces of former Malla Kings of the Kathmandu Valley. From Patan Museum we will Walk back to Patan Dhoka, our Meeting point. If any travelers wants to explore around the Patan Durbar square and wants to walk back on their own, they can end the tour at any point.

    Patan Dhoka (Patan Gate) is our meeting point and we will share the story about how the Malla Kings had arranged the security of old city of Patan and talk about the murals on the walls of the gate.
