Experience the sighting of Humpback Whales on a private tour from Punta Mita, one of the most exciting experiences in the Mexican Pacific during your season. You will sail in search of these marine giants in their natural habitat, in a safe, respectful and well organized route.
During the tour you can watch whales very closely from the boat. Sometimes it is possible to appreciate surface behaviors such as blowing, flicking or jumping; however, these activities depend entirely on the animal’s natural behavior and cannot be guaranteed, as it is wildlife in freedom.
The experience takes place on board a private boat for your group, departing from Punta Mita, and is suitable for all ages.
The sighting season usually runs from December 8 or 9 to March 23 or 24.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Our office is at Av. Las Pangas No. 18, Punta Mita, one block before the pier. From the main road turn in front of Punta Mita Hospital to the left in front of the sports unit. We are two houses after the hotel Punta Mita Surf Lodge. If you have questions, contact us.
What to expect
The tour starts at Punta Mita Pier, where the team welcomes travelers, gives general directions and boards the private boat to begin the experience.
Navigation and whale search
During navigation, the captain and guide actively search for humpback whales within their natural habitat, scouring the areas where they are usually found during the season.
Humpback whale watching
Once located, a distance is maintained to observe them without interfering with their behavior. It is possible to watch them swim, breathe on the surface, show fins, tails and sometimes perform jumps or other spectacular movements, always depending on their natural behavior.
Sighting is guaranteed, although stunts cannot be assured.
Experience on board
The tour takes place on board a private boat, allowing you to observe calmly. The guide accompanies the experience and supports to identify key moments during the tour.
Return to Punta Mita
The return allows you to enjoy the seascape and, sometimes, new encounters with marine fauna, ending the tour in the dock of Punta Mita.
