Depart from your accommodation and journey along the south coast of São Miguel before heading towards the west side of the island to see one of the 7 wonders of Portugal, the volcanic lakes of sete cidades.
From there we will move to the north side of the island to see the beautiful Lagoa do fogo lake.
Our Journey continues towards the wonderful waterfalls of Ribeira dos Caldeirões, a very beautiful and quiet Natural Park. Then a stop for a typical Azorean lunch!
Finishing Lunch, Furnas Valley is waiting for us to experience its dramatic volcanic landscape. There we can admire the wild viewpoint of the Pico do Ferro for a panoramic view of the valley.
Return to the accommodation via the island's north road, and stop at the site of Europe's only tea plantations and tea factory.

At Lagoa do Fogo, you can see a pristine volcanic lake surrounded by lush green mountains. The crystal-clear water reflects the sky, creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere. At Pico do Ferro, you can enjoy a panoramic view over the Furnas Valley. From the viewpoint, the Furnas Lake and surrounding hills are clearly visible. At Vila da Povoação, you can see a charming coastal town surrounded by green hills. It is known as the first settlement on São Miguel Island. At Miradouro da Ponta do Sossego, you can enjoy stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean. The viewpoint is surrounded by colorful gardens and well-kept paths. Cliffs drop steeply into the sea, creating a dramatic landscape. The sound of waves adds to the calm and relaxing atmosphere. It is a perfect place to admire nature and take beautiful photos.

At Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park, you can see beautiful waterfalls surrounded by lush forest. Stone paths and wooden bridges lead through the green landscape. The sound of flowing water creates a peaceful atmosphere. Traditional watermills reflect the island’s rural heritage. It is an ideal place to enjoy nature, relax, and take scenic photos.
Ribeira Grande offers a stunning blend of dramatic volcanic coastlines and historic charm, featuring the iconic black sand surfing waves of Santa Bárbara. You can explore its unique Baroque architecture in the town center.
In Capelas, you can see a quiet coastal village with strong maritime traditions. The town is known for its natural swimming pools formed by volcanic rock. Fishing culture is an important part of local life and history. The coastline offers beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean. Capelas combines sea, nature, and tradition in a peaceful setting.
At Sete Cidades, you can see a stunning volcanic crater with two lakes. One lake is blue and the other is green, creating a striking contrast. The Miradouro do Escalvado offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the Azorean coastline, perched high on a rugged cliffside. From this vantage point, you can admire the iconic Mosteiros islets rising from the deep blue Atlantic and the quaint village below.
