Once we arrive on Bribie Island, you’ll have time to explore the charming seaside township of Bongaree. Wander along the waterfront jetty, browse the local shops, grab a coffee, or simply relax and soak up the peaceful views across the Pumicestone Passage. With its leafy parklands, gentle sea breeze and laid-back coastal atmosphere, Bongaree is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy island life.
Cool off with a swim at beautiful Woorim Beach. Once everyone’s refreshed, we’ll settle in for a laid-back seaside lunch.
After exploring the National Park and coastal beaches, we’ll begin our journey back to your original pick-up point. On the way, if the timing is right, we’ll stop by a local roosting site to see the flying foxes (fruit bats) as they awaken and begin to take flight — an incredible sight at sunset. It’s a relaxed and memorable way to finish your Bribie Island adventure.
We’ll 4WD along the surf beach to Norfolk Lagoon, a peaceful freshwater lagoon tucked behind the dunes. Here, we’ll hop out to spot local wildlife and enjoy a refreshing swim. We’ll also inflate two stand-up paddle boards for guests to share — a great way to relax on the water. From here, we continue the beach drive to Welsby Lagoon for a scenic lookout moment before cruising further north towards the historic Fort Bribie WWII bunkers. Built in the 1940s to protect the coastline, these remarkable concrete structures still stand today. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the bunkers, learn their history, and take in the rugged beauty of the island’s northern beaches.
