This is the one and only Original Alpaca Picnic Experience.
While shooting for Quechua Benefit, a nonprofit supporting economic benefits for underserved communities in the Peruvian highlands, professional travel, nature & humanitarian photographer Wasim Muklashy met Amanda Vandenbosch, one of the world's premiere alpaca breeders & Peru-trained alpaca judges. That encounter blossomed into a friendship which led to his living & working at Flying Dutchman Alpacas, Amanda's family farm in Bend, OR during part of the pandemic year. Taking their morning coffee & lunch in the alpaca pasture was pure therapy & they both realized that if these floofs were therapeutic to them, they'd be therapeutic to ALL. So here they are, offering an experience with a group of floofs guaranteed to put smiles on the faces of those in the foulest of moods.
There is no other activity that will give you this level of time, experience, education and interaction with the magical creatures that are the alpaca.

Alpaca Picnic Meal
We never know exactly what fresh meals our caterers will prepare each week, but past meals have included homemade quiche and chicken salad croissants.

Meeting and pickup
Please note, the entrance to the farm is a bit tricky to find, so the address provided is to the Tumalo Coffeehouse. When you arrive at the coffeeshop, please let the staff at the counter know you have arrived and someone will then escort you to the farm to your picnic.
What to expect
We'll set you up at your own picnic table (and picnic blanket!) in one of our pastures with a picnic basket filled with food and drink and all the fixins.
You'll get to sit, drink, eat & be merry while surrounded by a pack of friendly alpacas. We'll even leave you with some alpaca food. Some will come up as curious about you as you are about them. Some won't even acknowledge your existence. But the one thing that is guaranteed is that ALL of them will put smiles on your face that you may never be able to wipe.

Please be aware when you book the price is 150 per adult, 50 per child, so make sure to pick how many people will be coming so that we prepare enough food for everyone.

Also just to note, while they're adorable year round, if you're looking to picnic during maximum floof, consider booking before they are sheared in mid-May, at which point they'll look goofy aliens for a few months.
We can accommodate for most food sensitivities (also vegan, vegetarian, keto).
