Alta Fjord: Whale Safari Experience

4 hours (approximately)
Offered in: Norwegian and 1 more

A winter tour in Alta Fjord offers a truly magical experience. While it may be cold, the chance to spot whales makes it well worth it. Recently, whales have been appearing in Alta Fjord as they migrate further north, bringing these magnificent creatures closer to our region. The most common species you'll encounter are sperm whales and killer whales (orcas), though there are also opportunities to see porpoises and hourglass dolphins.

Join us on an exciting adventure as we explore the Fjord in search of whales. If you're lucky, you may witness the breathtaking sight of hourglass dolphins swimming wildly in the sea, and have the incredible opportunity to see wild whales up close.

On this tour, we venture out in the Alta Fjord in search of whales. These majestic creatures follow schools of fish such as herring, capelin, and mackerel. Young whales are often playful and curious, offering incredible sightings. However, whale presence depends on the availability of fish, which varies daily and unpredictably.
