On this private walking tour of Edinburgh's Old Town, I'll show you some of the best known attractions of this stunning city, as well as some hidden gems known only to locals. If there's anything you want to see in particular please let me know; as this is a private tour it can be altered to your needs!
Please note that this tour is entirely outdoors, there are no entrances to attractions, although you can purchase your own tickets for Edinburgh Castle to enter at the end of the tour if you wish.

Meeting and pickup
I'll meet you outside the front entrance to The King's Gallery, in front of Holryrood Palace. Look for the guide in a kilt.
We'll finish up on the Castle Esplanade outside Edinburgh Castle

1Palace of Holyroodhouse
We'll start outside Holyrood Palace. We won't go inside, but I'll tell you some of Scotland's royal history and how it ties into Edinburgh's past and present.

We'll walk the entire length of the Royal Mile. On the way, we'll occasionally stop in alleyways and courtyards off the main street where I'll tell you stories of Edinburgh's history.

We'll stop in Bakehouse Close, famous as a filming location in the television series Outlander and Guillermo del Toro's Netflix movie Frankenstein.

You'll see Victoria Street, famous as the most colourful shopping street in the Old Town.

7Edinburgh Castle
We'll finish our tour beside Edinburgh Castle. Although we don't enter the castle on this tour, I recommend you purchase your own tickets to do so.
