Your adventure kicks off bright and early at 7:30 a.m., with our friendly guide picking you up from your Marrakech hotel or a nearby meeting point. As we head out, we’ll cross the breathtaking Atlas Mountains, making a relaxing stop along the way for coffee and a bathroom break at the foothills. Take in sweeping views from a scenic terrace before we continue climbing to the highest mountain pass in North Africa—soaring up to 2,262 meters. From there, we descend into the magical world of Ait Ben Haddou, home to one of Morocco’s most iconic kasbahs.
Explore the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its earthen architecture and cinematic history. With a local guide included, wander through its ancient alleys and learn about its role in trans-Saharan trade and as a backdrop for famous films like Gladiator. After the tour, enjoy lunch in the scenic and historic surroundings of the kasbah.
Continuing on our first day, we head to Ouarzazate, famously known as the Hollywood of Africa. This city has served as the backdrop for numerous blockbuster films, including The Mummy and Lawrence of Arabia. Take in the cinematic landscapes of a place often called “The Gateway to the Desert.” For those interested, there’s the option to visit a film studio and explore Kasbah Taourirt, the city’s historic medina. If preferred, we can simply pass by and enjoy a quick glimpse from the vehicle.
We continue our journey along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, beginning in the town of Skoura, where you'll enjoy views of a lush palm tree oasis stretching across the landscape.
As we continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, we reach Kelaat M’gouna, famously known as Rose Valley, Morocco’s rose capital. Each year, this town hosts an international festival celebrating its fragrant blooms. We’ll take a break at a local café before moving on to the stunning Dades Valley.
Upon arriving in the Dades Valley, we’ll drive through the stunning landscape, taking in the diverse trees and lush greenery that surround us. Next, we’ll visit Tisdrine, a viewpoint offering a breathtaking panoramic sight of the winding zigzag road below. Finally, we’ll settle into our private guesthouse in Dades, complete with an en-suite bathroom, where you can relax and unwind. The day ends with a delicious Moroccan dinner, enjoyed in the peaceful and beautiful setting of the valley.
The following morning, enjoy a hearty breakfast at our guesthouse before departing for the stunning Todra Gorge, as we travel through Tinghir city and the scenic Todra Valley.
The breathtaking beauty of Todra Gorge leaves you wondering why it isn’t counted among the world’s natural wonders. After lunch on the second day, we’ll continue our journey onward to Merzouga.
On our way, we’ll pass through Erfoud, known as Morocco’s capital of palm dates and fossils.
Overnight at a Desert Camp Our base will be Merzouga, tucked deep within the desert. After a camel ride across the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes, we’ll arrive at a traditional luxury Berber desert camp to spend the night. Enjoy a delicious dinner and breakfast at the camp, accompanied by lively traditional music, before beginning our final day’s journey back to Marrakech.
Early in the morning, wake up to catch the stunning sunrise from the nearby dunes, then return to the camp for a hearty breakfast and a chance to freshen up. Once ready, we set off on a morning camel trek to experience the breathtaking desert sunrise from atop the dunes. After riding back to the other side, we begin our journey back to Marrakech, leaving behind the captivating landscape of Merzouga. Along the way, there will be stops for cafés and restroom breaks as needed. In the afternoon, we pause at Kelaat M’gouna for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, we continue with a scenic evening drive through the beautiful Atlas Mountains, stopping occasionally for rest and photo opportunities. We arrive in Marrakech in the evening, bringing this unforgettable tour to a close and leaving you with memories to cherish forever.
