Let`s explore the open waters, creeks and deep channel of the Cairns Estuary System is an extremely important part of the breeding cycle of juvenile fish.
This State Marine Park is a natural habitat to deep holes, mudflats, snags and drop-offs for a wide variety of fish species.
Common estuary fish species (fish species are seasonal but not limited too) Javelinfish, Fingermark, Threadfin Blue & King, Queenfish, Trevally species, Mangrove jack, Estuary cod including Gold-spotted & Black-spotted, Bream, Flathead, Hairtails, Giant Mudcrab and the famous Barramundi!
