Uncover thousands of years of Georgian history on a captivating journey to its most significant landmarks. This full-day tour begins at the 6th-century Jvari Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site offering breathtaking views over the confluence of the Aragvi and Kura rivers. From there, we travel to Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, where you will visit the controversial and unique museum dedicated to his life, complete with his personal belongings and armored railway carriage. Next, travel back to the Iron Age at Uplistsikhe, an ancient cave city carved directly into the rock. Explore its fascinating streets, temples, and a well-preserved theater that once thrived as a key center on the Silk Road. After a break for lunch, the tour concludes in the sacred heart of Georgia – the ancient city of Mtskheta. You will visit the majestic Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, another UNESCO site, where legends say Christ’s tunic is kept and where Georgian kings were crowned and buried for centuries.
