The Monks Trail: Mountain Hiking Adventure In Marbella

3 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English

On this 3-hour hike, your English-speaking guide will lead you through the beautiful Sierra Blanca mountains, where you can enjoy the views, breathe the fresh air, and learn fascinating facts about the region’s history, flora, and wildlife. The route is full of variety, with changing landscapes and stunning panoramic views over the coast and surrounding mountains.

One of the highlights of the tour is a visit to the ruins of an old hermitage hidden high in the mountains — a peaceful place where monks once lived in solitude, surrounded by untouched wilderness. Locals from Marbella would come here to pray or confess their sins.

Along the way, we’ll also come across special details you might otherwise miss on your own, such as a small historic mine cart — a reminder of the days when Marbella had active iron mines. Along the way, we’ll navigate a narrow rocky section equipped with safety chains. Your guide will lead the way, so you can enjoy the experience without worry.
