    Thamel

    The Iconic Holiday team will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport terminal on your arrival day. You can see our team holding a play card with your and our company’s name. They will transfer you to the hotel and give you some information about your surroundings. A pre-trip meeting will be held and you will meet with your trip guide. Make sure to confirm your queries about trekking in the mountains.

    Thamel

    Thamel lies in central Kathmandu. This is a touristic centre, many travel companies, restaurants, high-end hotels and many discos and nightclubs are here. Likewise, travellers do last-minute shopping here, many local shops provide basic essential items for hiking.

    Flight from Kathmandu (1,400m / 4,593ft) to Lukla (2,850m / 9,350ft). Trek to Phakding ( 2,650m / 8,562ft )

    Lukla

    We fly to Lukla today early in the morning. Whether the flight took off from Kathmandu airport or Manthali airport depends on the flight status during your trip. The flight will win your heart with its breathtaking mountain panorama. At Lukla airport, the porters will say Namaste to you and join the group. Walking following the bust streets of Lukla, we descend to Phakding village. On the way, we will cross swinging bridges and pass by small villages. The trail goes through lush forests, and we can see the stunning view of Kongde Ri upon reaching Phakding village.

    Lukla Airport is one of the busiest airport during the trekking season. Many travellers for the everest region trek use this airport.     Trek from Phakding (2,650m / 8,562ft ) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,285ft)

    Namche Bazaar

    The Phakding to Namche Bazaar trail is a bit tough. Leaving the Phakding village, we will walk uphill, enjoying the pristine scenery and crossing many suspension bridges. Walking past a few settlement areas, Monjo arrives. From here onwards, we begin trekking through the Sagarmatha National Park. Magnolia and rhododendron forests make the trail enchanting. Passing by lovely waterfalls and walking alongside verdant foothills, we steeply ascend to Namche Bazaar.

    Namche Bazaar

    Namche Bazaar is one of the modern stations in the Khumbu region. This place is equipped with many modern hotels, restaurants and tea houses. Normally travellers stay one more day to adapt with high altitude.

    Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar: Hike to Syangboche Airstrip (3,748 m) and Everest View Hotel (3,962 m)

    Namche Bazaar

    We'll take a rest day in Namche Bazaar today. Because of the rise in altitude in the last two days, it's crucial to take acclimatization days to ensure a safe journey. Early in the morning, go on a hike to Syangboche Airstrip and Everest View Hotel. The mountain views of Thamserku, Kongde Ri, and Khumbila are outstanding along the way. We also get to see stunning views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, etc, too, during this hike. The remaining afternoon spends visiting museums and shops in Namche Bazaar.

    Trek from Namche (3,440m / 11,285ft) to Tengboche (3,855m / 12,850ft)

    Tengboche

    The trail ascends to Tengboche village, following a very impressive trail. The route initially descends to Dudh Kosi Valley, and we reach Phungi Thanka. From here, we walk past the Imja Khola and keep ascending towards Tengboche. The views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Everest, and Mt. Nuptse, especially, are gorgeous on this day.

    Trek from Tengboche (3,855m / 12,850ft) to Dingboche (4,360m / 14,290ft)

    Early in the morning, we take our time to explore the Tengboche monastery. After breakfast, we leave Tengboche village and descend to the Imja River. Trekking through Pangboche village, we walk past fluttering prayer flags and stupas. Further, it's an uphill climb via terraces to Dingboche village, which is also known as the Summer Valley.

    Acclimatization in Dingboche; hike to Nangkartshang peak (5,083 m)

    After acclimating for the first time at Namche, we will have a rest day today. Adapting to the increasing altitude and changing environment is essential for the human body to prevent altitude sickness. Today we acclimate by making a hike to Nangkartsang Peak. The view of Ama Dablam from the peak is awe-inspiring. After the acclimatization hike, you can explore the village or relax in the teahouse.

    Trek from Dingboche (4,360m / 14,290ft) to Lobuche (4,930m / 16,175ft)

    With every new village, we get very close to the Everest base camp. Leaving Dingboche village, we gently trek via bare fields. The trail gradually gets steep, and we hike to Dughla, following the glacial route. From here, the trail goes along the Khumbu glacier to Lobuche village.

    Trek from Lobuche (4,930m / 16,175ft) to EBC (5,364m / 17,598ft) and back to Gorak Shep (5,185m / 17,010ft)

    Everest Base Camp

    The walk today finally takes us to Everest base camp. From Lobuche, the trail ascends steeply along the Khumbu glacier. We reach Gorka Shep, which used to be the base camp of Mt. Everest back in the day. Walking past memorial chortens, we walk on a boulders-filled area and gradually make it to Everest base camp. Surrounded by mountains and hills, the base camp is beautiful. After spending some time here, we will trek back to Gorak Shep to spend the night.

    Hike to Kala Patthar (5,555m / 18,208ft) viewpoint, trek to Gorak Shep then to Pheriche (4,250m/13,945ft)

    To enjoy the nearest view of Mount Everest, we hike to Kala Patthar, before the sunrises. Located above Gorak Shep, Kala Patthar is a famous vantage point that offers a breathtaking mountain panorama. From this place, you can see the ocean of mountains all around you. Later, following a downhill trail, it's a few hours to descend to Pheriche village.

    Trek from Pheriche (4,250m / 13,945ft) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,285ft)

    Namche Bazaar

    After a hearty breakfast, we move down to Namche, hiking along the trail we had taken earlier. As the trek progresses, we come across Pangboche village, following Tengboche village. We cross a suspension bridge and enter the forest trail hiking until we arrive in Namche Bazaar.

    Trek to Lukla (2,850m / 9,350ft) from Namche Bazaar(3,440m / 11,285ft)

    Leaving Namche Bazaar, first steeply descend for some time following a trodden hillside. The trail then joins a densely forested path and goes through small settlements. Crossing Dudh Koshi River multiple times on suspension bridges, we reach Monjo and retrace the path back to Phakding village. From here, the trail gradually ascends to Lukla, where the trek ends.

    Kathmandu Valley

    Early in the morning, we say goodbye to the mountains, and fly back to Kathmandu. The flight is phenomenal, and the aerial views are enchanting. Upon landing in Kathmandu, the team will drop you at the hotel. Enjoy the remaining day in Kathmandu relaxing, shopping, and exploring. We meet you in the late evening for a farewell dinner.
