The Everest Base Camp (EBC) and Gokyo Lake Trek are the most famous and trafficked trek that takes you to the majestic Everest (8848.48 m). The trek offers a spectacular view of the four world's highest mountains (Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho Oyu and Mt. Makalu). The EBC and Gokyo Lake trek is two separate trekking, but when combined provide an unforgettable experience. The Cho-La Pass separates the two valleys that make up the Gokyo – EBC trek. As you ascend and descend the trails, you will be astounded to witness the views every day. The craggy steep slopes and pristine lakes will leave you in awe.
This trekking route offers ample time to witness stunning peaks including Ama Dablam (6170,), Pumori (7161m), and Nuptse (7861m) along the way. The trail leads you to the mighty Everest, passing through hills, and beautiful villages inhabited by multiple ethnic groups including Sherpa, Tamang, Gurung and many more.

Your ultimate adventure starts with your landing in Kathmandu valley surrounded by beautiful green hills and alluring Mountain views. You will be welcomed by our representative at the airport gate. Following that, you will be transferred to the respective hotel nearby to rest and refresh in order to avoid Jet lag. Today you can just explore nearby areas.
Staying a night prior to start is essential. We recommend you to explore and get acclimated before starting a trek if you are coming from sea level. While flights to Lukla are difficult to catch, we will book your ticket as soon as possible. You will enjoy the beauty of historical monuments, along with Hindu and Buddhist temples and pilgrimage sites. Kathmandu is home to seven UNESCO world heritage sites worth visiting and experiencing. You would enjoy many choices of restaurants and meals providing both local and western foods. You can imagine the types of cuisine they offer. You can get your trekking gear from a shop nearby if you need anything for your trek. This evening, our representative will give you a briefing about the trek and address your queries in the best possible way.
Are you ready for the adventure? Let’s go! Early morning you will be picked up from the hotel by our representative with a guide for your trek. You will enjoy your exciting flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. You will enjoy the aerial view of the mountains along with a glimpse of mighty Everest from your window. As soon as you land at Lukla Airport (Tenjin Hilary Airport), we will have short rest and breakfast before starting our trek. Following that, you will begin your short trek to Phakding, which will be around 3-4 hrs. Today we will spend the night ina beautiful hotelon the bank of Dudh Koshi. Today, we will trek up to Namche Bazaar passing beautiful Monjo village on the way where we will have a few minutes break to get ready for the ascend. Now, you will enter the National Park area. We have to buy a ticket for the entry. The trail continues sharply uphill for almost two hours before reaching Namche Bazaar. In route, you will cross a few suspension bridges including the Hillary suspension bridge right above the confluence of two beautiful Bhote Koshi and Dudh Koshi rivers. Today is going to be a little more demanding than the prior one. Today we are going to spend a night at the beautiful Namche Bazaar. Acclimatization is indeed an additional day to expose your body to a new height. However, you will spend the night back in the same place. This is done to help your body adjust and avoid altitude sickness along the journey. Today, we will hike up to 3600m-3800/11810 - 12730ft to enjoy the beautiful view of Mt. Everest and explore Sherpa Museum. We will acclimate, relax and enjoy the view from the top; this will help as we progress to higher and higher altitudes. We will have tea and breakfast at Everest View Hotel from where you will enjoy the panoramic view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Kongde, Mt. Nuptse, Thamserku, and many more. After a few hours of rest, we will get back to Namche for lunch. Now, you have a half-day to explore and enjoy your time.
Early morning, you will leave Namche Bazaar full of excitement and energy. The trail onward is well-maintained and paved with stones. Very soon you will find a Stupa devoted to Tenzing Norgay (the first Nepali to climb Mt. Everest) on your way. Soon after, you will come around a bend and get your first look at Cho Oyu (the world’s 6th highest mountain), which is going to be your regular company for the next couple of days. After a few hours of trekking, you will reach Khumjung Valley surrounded by spectacular snow-capped mountains including Ama Dablam, Thamserku and many more. Climbing a long way, passing bridges and walking through rhododendron forest, you will reach the beautiful village of Dole. Leaving behind Dole, you will start slowly climbing up a ridge above the dole. Following the Yak tracks, passing through prickly bushes on your way to Lhabarma and drifting up and down you will move towards Machhermo. On the route to Gokyo, Machhermo is the last village you will leave behind tomorrow. The lovely stream that flows down the Phari Lapche and Kyajo Ri runs through the settlement before its union with Dudh Koshi. You can visit a hospital nearby (Himalayan Rescue Hospital) if you need any medical services. Today, you will spend the remaining day resting at Machhermo. Today, you will spend a night at Gokyo Valley, the most amazing and beautiful place on earth. First, the path will descend for a few minutes and a gradual ascend through the river valley. Now the trail will be steep and rocky till you pass an iron bridge over a watercourse. You will witness the small and beautiful Gokyo Lake I (Longpongo) and golden ducks dancing in the water. Along the way, you will see the glittering Gokyo II before greeting the mighty Gokyo III (Dudh Pokhari) a few miles ahead. Gokyo Valley lies by the 3rd lake with Mt. Cho Oyu, creating an incredibly stunning background. After having your lunch, you can explore the beautiful valley and lakes. On the right side of the Gokyo III, you will see a trail heading up to the Gokyo RI (5357m); the supreme viewpoint to witness Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu, and many more. Today we will rest remaining day at Tea House. Trekking time: 4-5 hours Trekking distance: 2.8-4 miles (4.5-6.5) Accommodation: Hotel
Today is your 2nd acclimatization day, so don’t waste it. Early morning, you will ascend Gokyo Ri to witness the stunning view of Mt. Everest, peaks and pristine blue Gokyo lakes (II, III) from the top. The moment when sun rays kiss the mighty Everest towering above the surrounding mountains will leave you in awe. You can trek up to the 4th and 5th lakes including Ngazumpa glacier (Largest Glacier) if you want to explore more in the area. Today is the 10th day of our trek. You will trek a few hours along the Ngazumpa glacier to reach your next destination (Thagnak). It is going to be a short trek for today as we have a long and demanding day ahead of us. Stay hydrated and have enough rest for tomorrow. Today we spend rest of the day resting and getting ready for tomorrow. Trekking time: 4-5 hours Trekking distance: 2.3 miles (3.7 km) Accommodation: Guesthouse
Today, it is going to be tough compared to the entire journey before and ahead. You have to get up as early as possible (5-6 A.M) because you will be crossing the vertical Cho La pass including a glittering glacier on the eastern slope. You need to be careful because the trail is rocky and slippery. In the afternoon, there is a chance of high wind and stones falling from the top, which will make you difficult along the way. We recommend you cross the pass as early as possible. After a few hours, you will be at the top of Cho La Pass. You can see the mighty Ama Dablam standing like a pyramid right in Infront of you. Now, the path is sharp and vertical down for a few minutes till we cross the crevasses before reaching Dzongla. The village offers spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Lobuche Peak including the Pheriche village down the valley. Today, you will spend the night at Dzongla. Trekking time: 7-8 hours Trekking distance: 5 miles (8 km) Accommodation: Teahouse
You will be on a short trek today, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy and relax. You will descend from Dzongla, enjoying the surrounding view. You will follow the grassy trail, dry and curvy roads, and river beds before reaching Lobuche. Lobuche is a small village with a few hotels and tea houses to stay overnight. You can enjoy the rest of the day exploring and relaxing. A big day is waiting for you tomorrow. Trekking time: 2.5 hours Trekking distance: 4 miles (6.5 km) Accommodation: Teahouse
Finally, a big day has come. You get up early to begin your trek to Gorakshep. The trail is difficult as you cross a glacial moraine with up and down trek to follow. Before attempting Everest Base Camp, you stop for lunch at Gorakshep. After a few minutes of rest after lunch, you will pass a further glacial trail with a landslide for another 2-3 hours before arriving at Everest Base Camp (EBC). It is in the middle of the Khumbu Glacier. This is the moment of your lifetime. Enjoy! Feel! Shout! Laugh! Roar! You can see the mighty Himalayas soaring high above the cloud. You can see the colourful tents from different expedition groups preparing for the summit push. You can see the perfect view of Nuptse, Pumori, and Khumbuste from the base camp. After a few hours of stay at EBC, you will get back to your hotel for an overnight at Gorakshep. Trekking time: 6-7 hours Trekking distance: 5.5-6 miles (9-10 km) Accommodation: Hotel/Guest House
Yet another important day, you will be leaving for Kalapattar summit just before sunrise. This is going to be remembered for a lifetime. Remember, you have to get up at 4 A.M in the morning with the goal of reaching the summit before sunrise. The trail is steeply uphill all the way to the summit, which stands at an altitude of 5645m above sea level. It will take you around 2 hours to climb. Once you reach the summit, you can see the magnificent view of the mighty Mt. Everest smiling at you. Enjoy your time at the top of Kalapathar and return to Gorakshep for breakfast. After having your breakfast, you will descend back leaving behind the good memories of EBC and Gokyo Valley. You can have your lunch in Thukla before continuing the trek to Pheriche. The trail is vertical down the Thukla village and bushy a few miles before you reach Pheriche. You will spend the night here at Pheriche. Trekking time: 7-8 hours Trekking distance: 7.5 miles (12 km) Accommodation: Guest House
It will be another long and demanding day. The route descends sharply downward. You must proceed with caution as your shaky feet will struggle the rocky trail. You will continue your journey towards Tengboche, where you can stop for your tea. Now, the trail further descends from Tengboche for an hour. You will have your lunch after that and take a rest before we ascent one last trail to the Amadablam view hotel. You will trek another hour and thirty minutes before reaching Namche Bazaar. You can take a hot shower and get some rest for your body. Trekking time: 7-8 hours Trekking distance: 9 miles (14.5 km) Accommodation: Teahouse
Today, we are on the final day of our trekking. It will be a long walk from Namche to Lukla. After having breakfast, you will have a rapid descend down from Namche Bazaar to the Hillary suspension bridge. You will walk along the level trail running alongside The Dudhkoshi and a few up and down stairs before reaching Phakding. Here, you can have your lunch before leaving for Lukla. Phakding to Lukla is an easy trail with a little bit of elevation at the end. After a few hours of walking, you will arrive at Lukla. You can stretch your leg and recall all those beautiful memories of the trek. Tomorrow you will fly back to Kathmandu; Today, enjoy your time at Lukla. Trekking time: 5-6 hours Trekking distance: 10.8 miles (17.5 km) Accommodation: Teahouse
Today, you will fly back to Kathmandu, if the weather is clear and visible. You can do some shopping in Kathmandu and enjoy your time exploring other areas nearby. We will provide a successful celebration dinner at a restaurant nearby. Flight time: 45-55 min Mission accomplished!
