What to expect

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel and begin the approximately 5 to 6-hour drive toward Phnom Penh. Along the way, enjoy views of rice paddies, roadside vendors sell Krolan (traditional sticky rice cooked in bamboo), and small eateries serve daily meals to passing travelers.

Midway through the journey, you’ll pass Spean Kampong Kdei, also known as Spean Praptos, a remarkable 12th-century stone bridge built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. You may choose to stop briefly to take photos of this impressive Angkorian structure or continue driving if you prefer.

After about one more hour, stop in Kampong Thom for lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense), offering a chance to rest and recharge before continuing the journey. Later, you’ll pass Skun Market, famous for its unique insect snacks such as tarantulas. If you wish, you can make a short stop to take photos and experience one of Cambodia’s most curious local markets.

Upon arrival, you will gain new insights into Cambodian rural life, traditions, and landscapes, an enriching travel experience that turns a transfer into a cultural journey.
