Find out about some of the oldest as well as the people and events associated with them. Inquests, riots, politics, plagues, religious influence, bizarre entertainments and strange auctions, York's pub history provides a strong picture of the social life of the city.

Keith Martin will share his passion for York's oldest pubs in return for a donation to Keep Your Pet a charity which helps people keep their animals at difficult times"

Go to the National Trust shop on the corner of Goodramgate and College Street. The guide will meet you there.
The tour ends by the bus stops on Merchantgate Alternatively the tour can end at the Black Swan at Peasholme Green

The tour describes the history of many of York's pubs and York's pub history. If space and time allow the group will see the inside of the Old White Swan and will have arefreshment stop at the Olde Starre Inn, where there will be a 20% availble.
