This tour is unique because it covers multiple regions in one day, including the beautiful cities of Shamakhi, Gabala, Ismaili, and Sheki. Travelers will explore the ancient Church of Kish, the historic Sheki Caravanserai, and the impressive Palace of the Sheki Khans, all while enjoying the scenic landscapes of the Caucasus Mountains. It’s a perfect blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty across diverse destinations.
The tour starts at around 8 a.m. We pick up guests directly from their hotel or accommodation in Baku.
You'll start at Gosha Gala Tower or you can also get picked up from your accommodation.
Shamakhi’s greatest landmark is Juma Mosque, one of Azerbaijan’s largest and most lavish places of worship. While the current structure was reconstructed in 2013, the earliest version was built way back in 743AD, making this the second oldest mosque in the Caucasus and the oldest in Azerbaijan. Since then it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times, most notably during the devastating earthquake that reduced Shamakhi to rubble in 1859 and later by inter-ethnic clashes in 1918.
Our guests will see the forest in Ismaily.
Lake Nahour is one of the most popular and visited natural attractions in Gabala. It is a natural paradise surrounded by forests and high evergreen mountains. It covers an area of 240 hectares and has a maximum depth of 24 meters. Lake Nahour enjoys very clear water thanks to the sources of fresh water seeping into the lake, and it is considered one of the most important natural attractions. We will stop at a restaurant here for lunch.
Travelers who book this experience will explore the ancient Church of Kish, learning about its fascinating history and the legacy of the Caucasian Albanian Church. They’ll admire the unique stone architecture, walk through the peaceful grounds, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and village.
The Palace of the Sheki Khans is an 18th-century architectural masterpiece located in Sheki, Azerbaijan. It served as the summer residence of the Sheki Khans and is famous for its intricate stained glass windows (shebeke), colorful frescoes, and ornate wooden carvings. Surrounded by lush gardens and fortress walls, the palace offers a vivid look into the grandeur of the khanate era.
The Sheki Caravanserai is a beautifully preserved example of a traditional Silk Road inn, dating back to the 18th century. Once a resting place for merchants and travelers, it features a large stone courtyard, arched cellars, and traditional architecture that reflects the rich trading history of the region. Today, it serves as both a historical site and a charming hotel, offering a glimpse into the past.
We will start at approximately 8:00 AM. The total time spent in the car for the round trip to Gabala and Sheki and back to Baku will be around 10 hours.
