Known as the Venice of the Cotswolds, this one village offers a wealth of attractions and shops, restaurants, cafes and tea rooms. Or simply the space for you to enjoy some pleasurable time engrossed by the movement of the sparkling waters of the River Windrush, spanned by its five arched bridges.
Bibury is a charming Cotswold village just a short drive along country roads. William Morris (1834-96) described Bibury as "the most beautiful village in England". Fox News says that Bibury is one of the world's most picturesque villages, and an article on the Huffington Post website (1st May 2014), titled "The Most Charming Towns In Europe You'll Want To Visit ASAP", mentioned Bibury.
Burford has hardly changed since Georgian times, when it was an important coach stop between Oxford and the West Country. Its magnificent High Street, one of the finest in the Cotswolds, slopes down to a bridge crossing the River Windrush. The High Street is overlooked by mellow golden Cotswold stone buildings, including many 17th and 18th century houses. It is an extremely popular tourist destination in the Cotswolds.
Stratford-upon-Avon A town synonymous with William Shakespeare. Every visit to Stratford would not be complete without finding out more about English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the Bard Discover Shakespeare's Birthplace, where the world’s most famous playwright was born and grew up find out more about his early years.
