You'll learn the unique attributes of what makes truffle one the most sought after and expensive culinary ingredients in the world. Enjoy tasting dishes that enhance the aromatic properties of truffles. You'll discover our growing techniques and how we teach our dogs to detect the truffles under the soil.
Truffle pairs very well with a number of foods especially foods rich in fats so our tastings will include gluten, dairy, eggs and nuts.

Go to the Truffle Hunting Lodge on the farm and park where indicated. Come inside where it is nice and warm to meet your host Jill.

What to expect

Upon arrival at our Truffle Hunting Lodge you'll enjoy a truffle tasting while listening to an informative talk on how truffles are grown and why truffles are such a sought after culinary ingredient by top chefs around the world. You'll then be guided to the truffiere and walk through a biosecurity footbath and learn about the different truffle varieties that are grown at RedGround. Then we're ready to hunt for the elusive truffle! Follow along behind the truffle hunting dogs through the trees until they indicate they have found a truffle under the soil. You will see how the truffle is uncovered and assessed for it's ripeness and quality before removal from the soil. Why not try your hand at digging a truffle up yourself! You'll then be guided back to warm up in the Truffle Hunting Lodge and enjoy several more savory truffle tastings. Enjoy an informative talk on how the truffles are graded according to quality while lastly enjoy a sweet truffle tasting. Fresh truffles will be available to purchase on the day.
