    Sambodromo da Marques de Sapucai

The Marquês de Sapucaí, also known as the Sambadrome, is the heart of Rio de Janeiro’s world-famous Carnival Parade. Designed by renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer, this iconic venue stretches for 700 meters and hosts the vibrant competition between Rio’s top Samba Schools. With grandstands on both sides and a central runway for the parades, the Sambadrome becomes a stage for breathtaking costumes, powerful drumming, and dazzling performances that captivate thousands of spectators. It’s not just a parade—it’s a celebration of Brazilian culture, passion, and rhythm. Open year-round, the Sambadrome also functions as a cultural space and event venue. But during Carnival, it transforms into the most exhilarating and colorful arena in the world. Whether you’re watching from the stands or dancing in costume down the runway, the Marquês de Sapucaí offers an unforgettable and immersive experience in the heart of Rio’s Carnival.
