Meet our staff close to the Colosseum for scanning your ticket and audio-guide/check-in assistance. Admire the monument from outside and take your first photos while you hear an introduction about the Flavian Amphitheater and ancient Roman entertainment. Enter through the security check and walk into the Colosseum. From the inner ring, enjoy impressive views of the arena and underground structures. The audio guide explains how gladiator games were organized, where the emperor and different social classes sat, and how the hypogeum below worked. Climb to the upper viewing areas (subject to opening and ticket type) for panoramic views over the arena and the neighboring Arch of Constantine and Roman Forum. Learn about the later history of the Colosseum—from medieval fortresses to Christian symbol and modern-day restoration.
