Your 2-day journey begins with pickup at your hotel in Rome (or another agreed meeting point). Your private English-speaking driver greets you in the lobby and helps with your luggage before you settle into a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. As you leave Rome, you drive along the Autostrada del Sole, passing the countryside of Lazio and Campania. Your driver can point out interesting sights along the way and answer questions while you enjoy the changing landscape of hills, vineyards, and small villages.

Pompeii Archaeological Park
On arrival at Pompeii, you’ll receive your skip-the-line entrance tickets and enter the archaeological site, once a thriving Roman town before it was buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Your time in Pompeii is flexible within the schedule: you can focus on history, daily life, or just take it at a slower pace with lots of photo stops. After your visit, you can take a short break just outside the site for a snack, coffee, or lunch (at your own expense). Your driver will be waiting for you at the agreed meeting time.

Sorrento
Next, you continue by private vehicle along the coast of the Bay of Naples towards Sorrento (or a similar Amalfi Coast resort, depending on your chosen option). The drive typically takes about an hour, with views of Mount Vesuvius and the sparkling sea. On arrival in Sorrento: You check in to your 4★ hotel (standard package) or 5★ hotel (if you booked the upgrade). The hotel will be centrally located or in a panoramic position, making it easy to explore on foot. Your driver helps you with your luggage and confirms the pickup time for the next morning.

Sorrento Coast
The rest of the day is yours to enjoy: Stroll through the historic center, with its narrow streets full of shops, limoncello boutiques, and cafés. Walk to Piazza Tasso, the main square, and feel the lively atmosphere at sunset. Head down to Marina Grande, the old fishing village area, for sea views and traditional restaurants. Find a terrace bar for an aperitivo while you watch the colors change over the Bay of Naples. After breakfast with a view (depending on your hotel), your driver meets you in the hotel lobby to start your Amalfi Coast exploration. Today is all about panoramic views, charming villages, and photo stops.

Your first main stop is often Positano, one of the most famous towns on the Amalfi Coast. The road into Positano offers classic postcard views: colorful houses clinging to the cliffs, narrow streets, and the beach below.In Positano, you typically have time to: Walk down (or part-way) through the winding pedestrian lanes, lined with boutiques selling linen clothes, sandals, and ceramics. Visit Spiaggia Grande, the main beach, to take photos with the town rising behind you. Enjoy a coffee, gelato, or fresh orange juice at a café with a view. Browse small local shops for handmade ceramics or souvenirs. Your driver will let you know where and when to meet again, so you can explore Positano at your own pace.

Amalfi Coast
Back in the vehicle, you continue along the Amalfi Coast road, one of the most spectacular drives in Europe. Along the way: You’ll pass terraced lemon groves, dramatic cliffs dropping into the sea, and small villages perched on the rocks. The driver can stop at selected viewpoints for photos, giving you the chance to capture the coastline from above. This part of the tour is very flexible: if you’re more into photos and views, you can make more short stops; if you prefer to spend more time in one town, you can adjust accordingly.

Your next main stop is Amalfi, the town that gives the coast its name. Once a powerful maritime republic, it now charms visitors with its central piazza, seafront promenade, and beautiful cathedral. In Amalfi, you can: Walk up to the Cathedral of St. Andrew (Duomo di Amalfi), with its grand staircase and striking façade. You may visit the interior and cloister if you wish (entry ticket at own expense). Explore the narrow streets behind the main square, full of shops, bakeries, and cafés. Taste local specialties such as sfogliatella pastry or limoncello. Relax on the seafront or small beach, enjoying the views of the harbor and surrounding cliffs. We visit to Ravello, perched high above the coast. This town is known for its peaceful atmosphere and incredible views. Highlights in Ravello may include: Walking to a viewpoint overlooking the cliffs and the sea. Optionally visiting Villa Rufolo or Villa Cimbrone (entry tickets at own expense), with beautiful gardens and terraces that inspired artists and writers. Enjoying a coffee on the main square while listening to the bells and watching local life. Because this is a private tour, you and your driver can decide together how much time to spend here or in the other towns.

Rome
In the afternoon, after your last stop on the coast, you begin the return drive to Rome. You can relax in the vehicle, go through photos, or simply enjoy the scenery as you leave the coast and head back inland. Depending on traffic and your final stop on the coast, the drive to Rome generally takes about 3–4 hours, with a short rest break along the way if you wish. Your driver will drop you off at: Your hotel in Rome, or Rome airport, if you prefer to end the tour there. This marks the end of your 2-day private journey, combining the history of Pompeii with the beauty of the Amalfi Coast, all managed with door-to-door private transfers and comfortable pacing.
